New turbo oil drain. Engine mods done for big dowpipe. S124 V8 Turbo !

It is going a little slow

but im getting there eventually.   i needed to find a way to get the oil drain to the sump and with a route that will flow good enough. I wanted to use the old positions i used. with the other exhaust system.  The position where normally the level sensor sits. I could not reach this anymore.  I have made the choice to weld a  AN12 connection to the sump on the front under the crank pulley.

This was not without problems. The first try i had to cut out again because i hae problems with dirty aluminum. Because of oil contamination.   I welded a new aluminum plate back in the sump and in here i welded a bung on this.   These work good now and no leakage.

i also have finished the mod in the engine bay where i needed room for the downpipe  i have sealed everyting . Put a new coating on it and also finished the enginebay with new thicker insulation.

I had the exhaust manifold i also had ready. but after mounting them i had still a little warpped ends on the outside flanges of the passenger side manifold.  on the driveside manifold i have 1 nut connection where i have not enough space to get the nut on correct.  So the plan is to flatten them again on my bench sander. and make some room on the nut connection.  Then the can be mounted on the engine, And the drive train can go back in the car

But for now this is it
