S124 V8 turbo Massive power on regular fuel! Dyno Day at DW Techsolution

So this was a very interesting day to say the least.   I did so road tuning the last 2 months. And got to a decent boost level and rpm level.  The car was feeling already prett good .  i made max 5400rpm and max 0.7 -0.8 bar boost to play it a safe.

So it took me alot longer then i thought.  i under estimated the work i needed to do and offcourse i made i hard again for myself.  In the end i changed the cylinderheads for AMG sl55 kompressors heads. complete with cams.  Exhaust ports are 4 mm bigger.   Bigger cams a little less compression i think it is 3cc. so not much.

Made new echaust manifold 4-1  runner enlarged outside diameter from 42 to 48mm.  New turbo pulsar 7170G (G40-1150).  downpipe and exhaust enlarged from 3 to 4″. End muffler still 3″ but having a 3″bypass will give me 2   3″ outlets so will no block the 4″exhaust flow.

Also added 8 EGT’s  every exhaust runner can be measured.  I just like data 😉

At first i wanted to know how good i did the base tune so when did 2 runs with exhasut valve closed  we made a unexpected  491hp and 723nm @ the crank with the exhaust valve open de power lifted to 519hp  just by going from a 3 to a 4″opening in the end of the exhaust .

So learing point 1 is use a big down pipe on your turbo car 3″is not big enought to run 500hp you will leave free power on the table.

This base line already made my goal on the base fuel i was going to run. this regular 95 oct E10 fuel.  i was really surprized. So next was doing a wastegate pressure run to 6100rpm it made 0.2-0.3 bar boost mad 440+hp and 600+nm .

The plan was now raising the pressure bit by bit to see how much we could run safely and where the limit is with this fuel.  The more we raised the boost level the more suprizing where the results. I expected to make power with this setup but not with this base fuel. This engine can run still 16 degrees of timing with a compression ratio of 1-10 and 0,95bar boost or 195kpa.

At this boost level we made a massive 607hp and 867nm at the crank this is 500WHP and 714WNM

So how much more is this then i expected  it is at least 100hp and 100nm more then my max expectation.

So what is next.  We also did some changes in base settings and idle all this needs to be test long term and needs some fine tuning.  Offcourse im going to drive the car this summer.  Not sure when im going on ethanol this will be somewhere end this year. Also the bodykit will be installed this winter .
