BMW E36 5.0 V8
This is a pretty interesting one. A few weeks ago Robby contacted me if i wanted to film his E36. And in the beginning i though why would a BMW guy wanted me a Mercedes Guy film his car. But im personally not really a hater and i like tuning and alos different cars but i just know a lot about mercedes so i said offcourse!!!
And what is so interesting about this BMW E36 5.0 V8. It is a Mercedes engine swapped BMW. This E36 has a M113 5.0 V8. you would think if you hear a 5.0 v8 swap in a BMW that it must be a M5 e39 engine. or at least a M60.
But The M60 and for sure the M5 engine are much more expensive as this m113. The M113 is found a lot and easy to find under €1000,-. Also the M113 is smaller and fit’s better in the engine bay then the BMW v8 engine’s.
total weight of this BMW E36 5.0 V8 is 1400kg road ready. The car has a manual 6 speed gearbox from a E90. With a PMC adapter and flywheel clutch kit .
The Engine has a 180 degree turned intake manfold . it has e55 amg NA camshafst and cutom mad 4-2-1 header system what sounds very good. The ecu is modified to run with run like a standalone and doese not need more inputs then just from the engine.
Whe your in the car i can not really place the sound of the mercedes engine it sounds very good but when your outside of the car i can hear the m113 sound in it .
Robby is using the car semi street track car. There are also fixed track bucket seats in the car. These are pretty comfortable. The are pretty deep in the car but for track perfect.
The E36 overall looks very good no rust or damage. just a very fresh car and for a E36 that is also over 30 years old.
Information about the ecu modification i got from Robby is the following The company in Poland is called Poweride.PL This company Unlocked the ECU so it has no immobilzer en EZS any more. So it does not need a to see a Key anymore. So also the 2e lambda’s are removed and RPM limit is raised a little.
